How do you feel about it?
Question two, is this a promotion?
Question three, what did you do wrong?

I am going to attack this one by one, Question one, how do I feel about it, well I have mixed feeligs about it as I love TX, but you know in 2005 when I walked across the training college chapel, I had no idea I would be going to TX it was a suprise, and a shock as McKinney was given as my appointment. I did not sign up for TX but upon my arrival I slowly began to love this great division! So as far as going to NSC, I am certain I will love it, I do not know many people in that division but when I came here I knew few people there, so how do I feel about it.........called! I know that seems odd but God called me to The Salvation Army, therefore whatever the Salvation Army deems fit I follow, because I follow God and he told me to be a part of this great organazation! The people of NSC have already been kind generous, and are getting used to me, which I know takes some time to figure out. The poor people of Plainview are having me leave right as they are figuring it out. I have also been humbled by many of them saying they were amazed but not suprised, I was moving.

This leads me to the next question.. a promotion, I do not view moves in the Army as up down parrallel, sideways diagnol right or left. I just view them as moves! The people in charge see a need, either for the officer or the appointment, and try to fill that need to the best of their ability. I always am humbled when someone hear says I just assumed it was a promotion! It however to best of my knowledge was a farewell order, and whereever he leads me I will follow! I am not in God's army for the recoginiton I am hear to serve and go for souls! I want people to come to know Christ, and I pray in my new appointment I will be able to serve and that God will use me, despite my faults.....which leads me to the last question....what did u do wrong

I have probably done many things wrong! So I can not narrow this down. I do not know of anything off hand that would be an issue, but trust me when I say this I am fool of mistakes....just for those who are wondering I spelled full wrong on purpose, because when I use my humanity and forget God that is when I am being a fool, and mistakes occur. I do not think the army is overly concerned with honest mistakes! As we all make them, so did I do anything wrong, probably. However I do not think it had anything to do with the descion that was made.

I do not write this to give an explanation only answer the questions that are asked of me from people, the army is my life, and I trust they make the right descions when appointing people, to places, and I pray that I can be the best officer I can be for Asheboro NC starting on June 24, but until then I will be the best officer I can be for Plainview until I pack up my car and drive off on June 21st. So to answer the questions from everyone.....I'll will fight, I'll fight I'll fight for souls until the very end, wherever that may be!

things u just can not make up

So I went to a meeting we were having at a restaurant. Many of our people were in their uniform. Sara and I were there early to get ourselves set up for the meeting. As we were getting ready one of the people came in with their uniform on (this person does not come to sunday service, but has been a soldier for a while.) As I was speaking to the waiter about what was going on and asked him a few questions about himself, and then said "If you would ever like to see what were about our services are at 11pm. this person then responded well if you invite him to yours I need to invite him to my church and she said the churches name! No kidding a person in uniform invited someone to another church.... so I have a lot to say but like I said you just can not make this stuff up!!

Now I know those of you who know me, know I am mean, hateful and do not like to have fun, or play around, I mean a really stern man........So When I arrived in Plainview, I said, " You can not take from the kitchen what u want, you should be respectfull during prayer time, and not talk..." I know these are pretty stern rules, I do not even take up the cell phones which my predeccessors did. So I was talking with one of my youth who was explaining to me that certain youth had left because I was too strict in they did not like the above rules, so I promptly asked, "what rule do I have that my predeccesor (I said there name) does not have...response "You do not give us snacks" Now I was unaware that was a rule but apparently that has something to do with being strict...told u I can not make this stuff up

funny name/tvshow/blame game of hilarity

So We were in Bible study the other night and I cam across those name oholibama My pronounciation (O Holy O bama) :))) GEN 36:2 by the way She is one of the wives of Esau

The other night my wife and I decided to record Kings. Now the neo conseratives who hate NBC were bashing this show and talking about how it was a prophecy of things to come. Well all I can say is before you bash something watch it. It is a modern tale of David. With liberties of course. As Goliath the tank waas in Gath, and the main characters name David Shepard, and my favorite the Rev Samuels, very good show that intertwines the story of David pretty well. Watch it and compare it is actually quite fun, I know it is NBC, but a good show is a good show

Finally the blame game of hilarity. Obama is so popular that the congress when looking for some one to blame can not blame him. They actually try to blame his employees at the White House. Do you remember the past four years of them saying Bush. I think they are having a hard time with it. Chris Dodd whom by the way I would not let borrow a dollar from me. Got caught in a lie, and in trying to spend it sounded even worse because he was trying to blame the treasury which Obama is in charge of without blaming Obama. Look I am sorry if you do not find that funny I am so sorry. The lesson which I pray our Govt soon learns take responsibility for your actions. oh yeah to end this hilarity the canadians wanted Bush to attack Obama and he chose words of kindness and not insult, you tell me who is playing politics as usual:)

The phrase "time heals all wounds"

I hate this phrase, I have never much liked it. How does time heal a wound that is deep, yes we move on, yes we live life, or drown in our sorrows, but time does not heal the wound. I hate that phrase, because time does not heal the wounds of the past. It has been close to 12 years since Roderick past away in a car accident, and the wound is still there, now of course my life has evolved in ways I could have never dreamed of 12 years ago. I mean the anger is gone, the depression is gone, the confusion is gone. I do not know why him, but I must live I must move on, but do not tell me time heals all wounds. I am glad that the next year I was in a college thousands of miles away from where he and his family were. Not that I do not love his family, but the memory of him would have been more imbearable than the pain and anquish I was going through. The pain is hard to articulate to those who just assumed they knew, sure they had pain of their own, sure they had similar situations but how can they tell me time heals the wounds. Oh I have forgiven the man who fell asleep driving, I have prayed for the family who was on the other side of the road, who lost family memembers, because drivers and passengers did not pull over when they were tired. The wound however is still there, the wound is small, it is not the gaping hole it once was. You can ask my wife, most visits to Altus, I go and speak at his grave, tell him what is going on in my life, yes it is just a grave buried six feet deep but the wound is still there. I know people mean well, I know people want to help us move on, but sometimes we need to let people move at their own pace, no we do not want people to wallow in things they can not control, but we need them to work through the stages of grief. Saying time heals all wounds, is just not true. Wounds do not heal! Now for those who would jump me for this statement I say this, when we get to heaven the wounds on Jesus right and left hand will be there, the wounds are still there, but the wound will wrap around me and take away the wounds I have from this life, but they remain with me as a constant reminder. A reminder of the unknown, a reminder of uncertainty, A reminder, that my mortality is but fleeting, I do not know what will happen when I walk out the door, but I remember the wound and it reminds me that my life is indeed short, and to share the truth with people, Oh time does not heal all wounds, but when we look to God, he will help us move from the wound of hurt and heartach, and help us continue to live our lives even in the midst of our hurt, unfortunately the first thing God ask us to do is forgive those whom hurt us, whether it is a irresponsible driver, a mental unstable person, a gunman at a church. These are not easy steps, but if we do not do this the wound will be a gaping hole, that will only grow bigger, and our hate and discourse become stronger and we become angry even at those who were not responsible in the slightest for our pain, and oh yes sometimes the very person we need to forgive is God, because he is the one we blame. Oh he has a reason, and I wish I knew what the reason was, but I do not presume to know these things, but when we forgive, the wound begins its healing process, oh the scars do not go away, and the pain remains, and the hurt remains, but we will be able to live life we will be able to move on in the midst of our trials. Today I do not know what is causing any of my friends pain, with the exception of maybe one, but know the first step and the hardest step to the healing is forgiveness. But know this and please hear me, do not tell anyone time will heal all wounds, but God will bandage our wound and carry us through the difficult times and eventually the wound will stop bleeding and become a scar, a scar that will make us as individuals stronger wiser. It will not give us the answers to life or why these things happened the way they did but we will see we can live life we can move on and then we will see in front of us friends family and the God of the universe with his arms open to embrace us so we can indeed move into the future of his plan, and his embrace.

A problem with accountability

Okay so this is a political blog. Most people can figure out where I land on these issues. Here are some questions I have. I was listening to John Terry, he is a local Liberal, he may not think so but he is. He was talking about how some our saying in three months this is going to be Obama's recession. The callers where appalled people would do this, and how dare they. Then the smart John Terry said well no the recession started in Dec 2007. Please people our we ever going to hold congress responsible, so let us see from 2001-2006, we had a bubble burst and the recession was like a quarter. Republicans were in charge, they were the ones responsible for the burst and the reaction to the burst. Now the mighty John Terry calls this the Bush recession as well, even though he says it began in March of 01, let see that would have given Bush two months in a job that takes some time, and not hold Clinton responsible at all. So let us see both recessions are Bush fault, but the first one with a republican congress let us get out of it ourselves and lasted less than three months or right at it. The Democrats take control in January of 07, by December of 07 we are in a recession now they have 11 months on the job, and yet it is still Bush's recession? why? I am telling you now, it is the recession of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, of course there solution give a stimulus, give money to buisness. They gave money to the banks so how did that work, well maybe in some time but from where I am standing it did not work, so what is the solution, more stimulus more money, interesting so we are going back to what we have already seen does not work and trying it again. Maybe they believe it is like hitting a brick wall with a hammer, eventually the wall will chip, I do not know. I can not figure out how they get a pass, just because the people hated Bush. Now I will agree with Mr. Terry, this is not Obama's recession and it is unfair to put it on his administration, but let us be clear Obama the senator does need to be held responsible because he was a part of the senate, that being said by Dec 07 he was not really paying attention to anything but his campaign, if we are being honest.

The second thing that is bothering me is the price of his inaguration, it was outrageous. It was not the price that bothers me, if you have the money have at it you are the president of the United States and it is probably only the one time you are going to get to party, unless you are reelected which I think he will be so he only gets two relaxing and fun parties in eight years. So I am glad he had a good time. (there are other parties but they are not relaxing people have agenda's) So what is my problem, well to my minister friends if I have a church who is in debt and then I decide well for our celebration Sunday I am going to go out and spend 10,000 dollars for food and events and make it a spectacular event to win people to Christ, you would call me irresponsible, if you would not then this is not going to make sense. Obama has been tellling me for the past three month how horrible our debt is and spends more than the previous four presidents did on their inagurations combined. Now the media had a field day with Sarah Palin's dress, and barley a mention of that, and when it is brought up shrugged off, strange, but hey I hear it was a great party,.

Finally, the guy in charge of the IRS did not pay his taxes that is just funny to me. Of course it was an accident and he did say he paid. Here is my problem, the person said he made a common mistake. Well is not the guy in charge of the IRS supposed to understand the system? I mean I am sure he is a lot smarter than me, but this is the guy who is supposed to help us with the encomomy who made a common mistake. With the gloom certain people are telling me, do I want a guy in charge who is going to make common mistakes, I make enough of them on my own without the goverment helping me, well this has been really long and I will stop writing now. If you have insight, or a different point of view please share with me I would love to know it

The BCS got it right by luck

First Congrats to the Florida Gators, though I did not like the result I do believe they are the best team in the country. Now lets talk about the system and the bias in it. For <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Texas fans I say get over it. They barely pulled it out against OSU if they really believe they could have hung with FL I have some things to say about that. However as a fan who is trying to look at this from a fan of college football rather than a fan of the Sooners let us talk about a few things…. If you listened to the game on fox and did not feel like the announcers were pro Florida, I will say this, even my wife noticed this and she was not that interested in the game. For those who would say, see Tebow’s was the better QB and should of won the Heisman and performed better than Bradford I would disagree, from a QB point there numbers were very similar with the exception of rushing. So as an unbiased observer both of Tebow’s interceptions hit the sooners right in the hands, so did Bradford’s. See the difference, good bounces helped Fl and of course a brilliant interception, but both of them a key moments hit the sooner receivers first! That is why I believe Bradford is the better QB. Not the better athlete. I truly believe the BCS lucked out and got the two best teams in the country, that being said The SEC is not the best conference, nor is the Big Twelve and is sure is not the Pac 10. There is no one best conference. I believe FL is the best team in the country therefore they are better than all the teams in the Big Twelve, but I believe OU to be the second best team therefore only FL is better than they are. Now I do not want to hear all the SEC defense stuff, all I am going to say is they have never had to travel to Norman. Now here is the deal even though the BCS got it right, it is still wrong. Even though I personally believe FL would have won out in a playoff system, there is still USC 1 loss, Texas 1 loss, Utah 0 losses who are looking at the system and saying it was unfair. Of course USC gets a home game in their bowl game which I think is very unfair, so lets put the 2 loss teams in the system as well Penn State OU TCU and I am sure I am missing something. Here is my problem, they do not play a playoff. Now I hear all the excuses, but let me make something make sense for you. Your Jaw will drop and say it is not possible, but let me make this clear, it can happen. The NCAA could have a 64 team playoff in College Football, oh you heard me. Lets looks at it OU and FL last game was DEC 6, they Played in championship games so if we eliminate that most teams ended there season the week before. If you start that week 64 goes down to 32 1 week, 32 goes to `16 2 weeks 16 8 3 weeks 8 goes to 4 4weeks 4 goes to 2 5 weeks. So it took nearly five weeks for FL to Play OU hmmm. Now do they really need a 64 team system of course not, but it could work is the point. The problem I have with the system is teams deserve the opportunity. Utah this year and Boise State, intriguing enough, both years, FL was the team that won the title with 1 loss never gave them the opportunity. See the issue is this teams like OU Texas and FL Al LSU Ohio State and USC will be the teams getting the opportunities while little teams like Utah can have great years and not get the chance. College football needs to fix this system, however lets not say FL was undeserving and was playing the wrong team because if you watched the game it was a great one and the best one since Texas USC several years back

Justification of Choice

I have been reading Chucks Blogs, even though he does not respond he has really good questions. I have been pondering them and wondering where that line is ( chuck blogs on my space and if u are my friend I would encourage u to find him and read his questions they are good) I was thinking as I was outside today how we justify our choices and how the line to holiness is blurred. Chuck is a pentacostal, fiery guy or at least when I saw him he was. He wants to be relevant in his ministry. He wants to make sure he shares Jesus, pentacostalism and Holiness with a postmodern world. However how does he do this when people are always justifying there choices? What do I mean, lets talk about those who drink, they say well the Bible does not say not to drink he says not to get drunk, so they justify that they can take alchohol without consquence and maybe that is true. In my bachelor get together before we got married one of my groomsmen aked if I woul mind if he bought beer, I said yes I would. Looking back I should have said do what u think is best, and let him justify his own choice. What about those who are homosexual, they will justify their choice by saying it is not a choice. Those like me who like to read good novels, I justify my choice in reading Harry Potter because I know it is not real and it is a great book. I mean each one of those topics is a good discussion piece. However can u imagine the old holiness people listening to me even entertain these thoughts. I mean if we have no line, then we have no holiness. If we are not striving for holiness what are we striving for. I think that is the challenge that we have in ministry, to take a stand, without being judgmental, and minister and tell people there is a line, but the line has to be gospel true. We as christians need not to be afraid to take stands, even though we live in a country that hates christianity for doing that. I say we should be allowed to take a stand even if we mistake the stand, because if we stand up for nothing what are we standing for. So here is the question I believe chuck and myself are trying to discover how do we remain relevant to a world who believes we are a dying judgmental breed, and yet remain true to the gospel and the life we are supposed to live as christians?

BCS FUN AND SCENARIOS

So, this week could turn out pretty intriguing in college football, or boldly predictable. If you do not care about college football hit the delete button now.

OU plays TECH. Now if OU beats Tech and goes on and beats OSU, then they will have one loss. Now bear in mind OU could lose both those games, OSU is good, and has given OU fits even when they have played poorly.

Texas goes on and wins out and Tech wins the week after OU you have three Big twelve south teams with one loss, each to one another, so tech wins the tie-breaker with texas, texas wins the tie breaker with OU and of course if OU wins they win the tie breaker with Tech. So the Big Twelve in their infinite wisdom have a way to determine who wins in this scenario. The team who is ranked highest in the BCS, which will not make any scence to Tech because it will be Texas, and OU will be scratching their heads. So Texas will go to the championship game and play Missouri, who will play better against Texas this time and as an OU fan I will cross my fingers, but Texas will more than likely win and end up in the championship game, but as you can see three teams all buying for that elusive spot.

The SEC is not nessacarily thrown out of this mix you have FL and Alabama, the winner of the championship game, bearing in mind FL beats FSU and Alabama beats Auburn. Which is similiar to the OSU OU game, Alabama and FL are both by far superior teams, but they are always played tough. The winner of this game will go to the championship game, but lets just say for fun AL loses to FL on a last second field goal, in a great game, now you have FL, AL, OU,TECH, TEXAS, USC and lets assume, OSU, and Penn State both win next week (games they could lose) you now have 8 teams all with one loss.

We know the human polls do not want a Big Ten team in the title game, whether that is fair or not so Penn State, and Ohio State will be looking on the outside, is this fair, no, but when has the BCS been fair, last year a team with two losses got in the title game, over a whole host of other two loss teams. So they will be at the back, Tech will get left out because the human polls will not favor them either. You know that FL and AL the winner of that game is in, I am going to say after watching both teams play FL wins in a close one. So now you have OU and Texas. Even though OU beat Tech, they do not jump and poll positions and Texas goes. In this game FL wins another National Title, in a tight defense struggle. For some odd reason OU will end up in the Fiesta Bowl for the third year in a row, and lose to some team they are supposed to beat, I think Arizona really likes OU fans for some reason. Penn State will go to the Rose Bowl and play USC, who I forgot to mention in all this mess, sorry USC (I do not believe Oregon State will out) That will be a game where the Big Ten finally beats USC in Pasedena. So those are just a few scenarios, now AL and Tech could make all this fun go away by winning out, but what fun is that, but if it does happen it begs the question, WHY IS THERE NOT A PLAYOFFS (Oh Yeah Money)

anxiety and worries

So I sit here on Nov 13 getting ready to become a dad. I can hardly believe it. When I look up and think about all the youth I have had to deal with in my time I become even more worried. See I have this inate ability to not really care what people think. Which has gotten me in trouble a time or two. I however do care what my daughter is going to think. I want to be a man of God and a man who shows her she can live a life for God and yet not be alone and have to follow rigourous rules. I do not want her to go through pain, but I know that is a wish I will not be able to grant but to teach her and be able to show her how to do with grace and love. I do not know if I will be able to do this or not but it is something I am anxious about. Well soon I will be a dad and I pray I can be the dad God calls me to be

prop 8 confusion

So I am confused and maybe those with more insight can help me out. Listen if you paid attention to the news and the election you know Californians voted down to allow Homosexuals to be legally married. Now here is my confusion. I am not in favor of allowing this because I think marriage is between a man and a women, I have been clear about this in the past, I believe homosexuality is a sin. So therefore even if the state allowed I would not recognize, and here is where my question comes. If it was legal and I did not recognize it, no one would care what I thought. If I got a letter in the mail from GA saying Sara and I were not married, I would of course try to correct it, but in the end it would not matter, I believe Sara and I are married, there are no if ands or buts about and if some state said well we are doing away with marriage all together I would not think Sara and I were anyless married, because I believe it is between me and my God. So here is my question, why is it such a big deal. I get the civil union thing, and I some what agree, I believe people should be able to visit people in the hospital, I believe people should be able to get insurance, I believe those things, even though I do not agree with the behavior, but here is the issue why would you pay millions of dollars to convince someone like me in California who does not agree when the reality is you do not care what I think anyways, why is it so important, if you believed you are married then you are married. I hate how people compare this to what my fellow African Americans had to go through, you see because, it is a whole lot different. To me this is not a rights thing, this is a please recognize me as someone who is just like you. Which seems a little absurd to me because in the end they do not care what I think and they want to be different. So say you are married if you believe you are married who cares what the state says! Like I have said I do not agree I just do not get the money that is spent on something that seems trivial to me, but maybe you can help me and explain to me
