the three questions asked about our farewell orders

The three questions people have been posing to me since we were given farewell orders to leave TX!
Question one. How do you feel about it?
Question two, is this a promotion?
Question three, what did you do wrong?

I am going to attack this one by one, Question one, how do I feel about it, well I have mixed feeligs about it as I love TX, but you know in 2005 when I walked across the training college chapel, I had no idea I would be going to TX it was a suprise, and a shock as McKinney was given as my appointment. I did not sign up for TX but upon my arrival I slowly began to love this great division! So as far as going to NSC, I am certain I will love it, I do not know many people in that division but when I came here I knew few people there, so how do I feel about it.........called! I know that seems odd but God called me to The Salvation Army, therefore whatever the Salvation Army deems fit I follow, because I follow God and he told me to be a part of this great organazation! The people of NSC have already been kind generous, and are getting used to me, which I know takes some time to figure out. The poor people of Plainview are having me leave right as they are figuring it out. I have also been humbled by many of them saying they were amazed but not suprised, I was moving.

This leads me to the next question.. a promotion, I do not view moves in the Army as up down parrallel, sideways diagnol right or left. I just view them as moves! The people in charge see a need, either for the officer or the appointment, and try to fill that need to the best of their ability. I always am humbled when someone hear says I just assumed it was a promotion! It however to best of my knowledge was a farewell order, and whereever he leads me I will follow! I am not in God's army for the recoginiton I am hear to serve and go for souls! I want people to come to know Christ, and I pray in my new appointment I will be able to serve and that God will use me, despite my faults.....which leads me to the last question....what did u do wrong

I have probably done many things wrong! So I can not narrow this down. I do not know of anything off hand that would be an issue, but trust me when I say this I am fool of mistakes....just for those who are wondering I spelled full wrong on purpose, because when I use my humanity and forget God that is when I am being a fool, and mistakes occur. I do not think the army is overly concerned with honest mistakes! As we all make them, so did I do anything wrong, probably. However I do not think it had anything to do with the descion that was made.

I do not write this to give an explanation only answer the questions that are asked of me from people, the army is my life, and I trust they make the right descions when appointing people, to places, and I pray that I can be the best officer I can be for Asheboro NC starting on June 24, but until then I will be the best officer I can be for Plainview until I pack up my car and drive off on June 21st. So to answer the questions from everyone.....I'll will fight, I'll fight I'll fight for souls until the very end, wherever that may be!

things u just can not make up

So I went to a meeting we were having at a restaurant. Many of our people were in their uniform. Sara and I were there early to get ourselves set up for the meeting. As we were getting ready one of the people came in with their uniform on (this person does not come to sunday service, but has been a soldier for a while.) As I was speaking to the waiter about what was going on and asked him a few questions about himself, and then said "If you would ever like to see what were about our services are at 11pm. this person then responded well if you invite him to yours I need to invite him to my church and she said the churches name! No kidding a person in uniform invited someone to another church.... so I have a lot to say but like I said you just can not make this stuff up!!

Now I know those of you who know me, know I am mean, hateful and do not like to have fun, or play around, I mean a really stern man........So When I arrived in Plainview, I said, " You can not take from the kitchen what u want, you should be respectfull during prayer time, and not talk..." I know these are pretty stern rules, I do not even take up the cell phones which my predeccessors did. So I was talking with one of my youth who was explaining to me that certain youth had left because I was too strict in they did not like the above rules, so I promptly asked, "what rule do I have that my predeccesor (I said there name) does not have...response "You do not give us snacks" Now I was unaware that was a rule but apparently that has something to do with being strict...told u I can not make this stuff up

funny name/tvshow/blame game of hilarity

So We were in Bible study the other night and I cam across those name oholibama My pronounciation (O Holy O bama) :))) GEN 36:2 by the way She is one of the wives of Esau

The other night my wife and I decided to record Kings. Now the neo conseratives who hate NBC were bashing this show and talking about how it was a prophecy of things to come. Well all I can say is before you bash something watch it. It is a modern tale of David. With liberties of course. As Goliath the tank waas in Gath, and the main characters name David Shepard, and my favorite the Rev Samuels, very good show that intertwines the story of David pretty well. Watch it and compare it is actually quite fun, I know it is NBC, but a good show is a good show

Finally the blame game of hilarity. Obama is so popular that the congress when looking for some one to blame can not blame him. They actually try to blame his employees at the White House. Do you remember the past four years of them saying Bush. I think they are having a hard time with it. Chris Dodd whom by the way I would not let borrow a dollar from me. Got caught in a lie, and in trying to spend it sounded even worse because he was trying to blame the treasury which Obama is in charge of without blaming Obama. Look I am sorry if you do not find that funny I am so sorry. The lesson which I pray our Govt soon learns take responsibility for your actions. oh yeah to end this hilarity the canadians wanted Bush to attack Obama and he chose words of kindness and not insult, you tell me who is playing politics as usual:)

The phrase "time heals all wounds"

I hate this phrase, I have never much liked it. How does time heal a wound that is deep, yes we move on, yes we live life, or drown in our sorrows, but time does not heal the wound. I hate that phrase, because time does not heal the wounds of the past. It has been close to 12 years since Roderick past away in a car accident, and the wound is still there, now of course my life has evolved in ways I could have never dreamed of 12 years ago. I mean the anger is gone, the depression is gone, the confusion is gone. I do not know why him, but I must live I must move on, but do not tell me time heals all wounds. I am glad that the next year I was in a college thousands of miles away from where he and his family were. Not that I do not love his family, but the memory of him would have been more imbearable than the pain and anquish I was going through. The pain is hard to articulate to those who just assumed they knew, sure they had pain of their own, sure they had similar situations but how can they tell me time heals the wounds. Oh I have forgiven the man who fell asleep driving, I have prayed for the family who was on the other side of the road, who lost family memembers, because drivers and passengers did not pull over when they were tired. The wound however is still there, the wound is small, it is not the gaping hole it once was. You can ask my wife, most visits to Altus, I go and speak at his grave, tell him what is going on in my life, yes it is just a grave buried six feet deep but the wound is still there. I know people mean well, I know people want to help us move on, but sometimes we need to let people move at their own pace, no we do not want people to wallow in things they can not control, but we need them to work through the stages of grief. Saying time heals all wounds, is just not true. Wounds do not heal! Now for those who would jump me for this statement I say this, when we get to heaven the wounds on Jesus right and left hand will be there, the wounds are still there, but the wound will wrap around me and take away the wounds I have from this life, but they remain with me as a constant reminder. A reminder of the unknown, a reminder of uncertainty, A reminder, that my mortality is but fleeting, I do not know what will happen when I walk out the door, but I remember the wound and it reminds me that my life is indeed short, and to share the truth with people, Oh time does not heal all wounds, but when we look to God, he will help us move from the wound of hurt and heartach, and help us continue to live our lives even in the midst of our hurt, unfortunately the first thing God ask us to do is forgive those whom hurt us, whether it is a irresponsible driver, a mental unstable person, a gunman at a church. These are not easy steps, but if we do not do this the wound will be a gaping hole, that will only grow bigger, and our hate and discourse become stronger and we become angry even at those who were not responsible in the slightest for our pain, and oh yes sometimes the very person we need to forgive is God, because he is the one we blame. Oh he has a reason, and I wish I knew what the reason was, but I do not presume to know these things, but when we forgive, the wound begins its healing process, oh the scars do not go away, and the pain remains, and the hurt remains, but we will be able to live life we will be able to move on in the midst of our trials. Today I do not know what is causing any of my friends pain, with the exception of maybe one, but know the first step and the hardest step to the healing is forgiveness. But know this and please hear me, do not tell anyone time will heal all wounds, but God will bandage our wound and carry us through the difficult times and eventually the wound will stop bleeding and become a scar, a scar that will make us as individuals stronger wiser. It will not give us the answers to life or why these things happened the way they did but we will see we can live life we can move on and then we will see in front of us friends family and the God of the universe with his arms open to embrace us so we can indeed move into the future of his plan, and his embrace.

A problem with accountability

Okay so this is a political blog. Most people can figure out where I land on these issues. Here are some questions I have. I was listening to John Terry, he is a local Liberal, he may not think so but he is. He was talking about how some our saying in three months this is going to be Obama's recession. The callers where appalled people would do this, and how dare they. Then the smart John Terry said well no the recession started in Dec 2007. Please people our we ever going to hold congress responsible, so let us see from 2001-2006, we had a bubble burst and the recession was like a quarter. Republicans were in charge, they were the ones responsible for the burst and the reaction to the burst. Now the mighty John Terry calls this the Bush recession as well, even though he says it began in March of 01, let see that would have given Bush two months in a job that takes some time, and not hold Clinton responsible at all. So let us see both recessions are Bush fault, but the first one with a republican congress let us get out of it ourselves and lasted less than three months or right at it. The Democrats take control in January of 07, by December of 07 we are in a recession now they have 11 months on the job, and yet it is still Bush's recession? why? I am telling you now, it is the recession of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, of course there solution give a stimulus, give money to buisness. They gave money to the banks so how did that work, well maybe in some time but from where I am standing it did not work, so what is the solution, more stimulus more money, interesting so we are going back to what we have already seen does not work and trying it again. Maybe they believe it is like hitting a brick wall with a hammer, eventually the wall will chip, I do not know. I can not figure out how they get a pass, just because the people hated Bush. Now I will agree with Mr. Terry, this is not Obama's recession and it is unfair to put it on his administration, but let us be clear Obama the senator does need to be held responsible because he was a part of the senate, that being said by Dec 07 he was not really paying attention to anything but his campaign, if we are being honest.

The second thing that is bothering me is the price of his inaguration, it was outrageous. It was not the price that bothers me, if you have the money have at it you are the president of the United States and it is probably only the one time you are going to get to party, unless you are reelected which I think he will be so he only gets two relaxing and fun parties in eight years. So I am glad he had a good time. (there are other parties but they are not relaxing people have agenda's) So what is my problem, well to my minister friends if I have a church who is in debt and then I decide well for our celebration Sunday I am going to go out and spend 10,000 dollars for food and events and make it a spectacular event to win people to Christ, you would call me irresponsible, if you would not then this is not going to make sense. Obama has been tellling me for the past three month how horrible our debt is and spends more than the previous four presidents did on their inagurations combined. Now the media had a field day with Sarah Palin's dress, and barley a mention of that, and when it is brought up shrugged off, strange, but hey I hear it was a great party,.

Finally, the guy in charge of the IRS did not pay his taxes that is just funny to me. Of course it was an accident and he did say he paid. Here is my problem, the person said he made a common mistake. Well is not the guy in charge of the IRS supposed to understand the system? I mean I am sure he is a lot smarter than me, but this is the guy who is supposed to help us with the encomomy who made a common mistake. With the gloom certain people are telling me, do I want a guy in charge who is going to make common mistakes, I make enough of them on my own without the goverment helping me, well this has been really long and I will stop writing now. If you have insight, or a different point of view please share with me I would love to know it
